General Jeong Ki-ryong's story
Yongma is said to come from ‘Yongso’ under the Gyeongcheondae, the space where the water revolves. It is said that Jeong Ki-ryong, the founder of the Yongma, ran across the sandy beach at Gyeongcheondae, caught it and planned to take it to the war. So, he waited with the scarecrow standing on the white sandy beach. At first, the horse did not notice but later it gradually became interested and finally it came to the side of the scarecrow and rubbed its body on it. At this time, General Jeong Ki-ryong, who was dressed as a scarecrow, took off his mask and owned the horse. General Jeong Ki-ryong said that he had defeated the enemy alone and saved General Jo Kyeong in the Geumsan Mountain fights during the Japanese invasion of Korea.
