The building is composed of 15 units (Main Building, Research and Testing Building, Silkworm Nursery Building, Experience Learning Hall, Exhibition Hall, etc.) with a total site of 146 thousand ㎡, and has a purpose of maintenance and development of Traditional sericulture industry, as well as to revitalize the insect industry through increasing awareness of new values of insects through useful insects, genetic resources, preservation, multiplication and technology diffusion.

Especially in Silkworm Insect Experience Learning Hall, there are various experience learning spaces available including sericulture related artifacts, sericulture related products, various kinds of butterfly specimens, special silkworm exhibitions, touching beetle and silkworm, cricket and aquatic insect observation and loosing cocoon thread.

The Insect Ecology Museum is dedicated to conducting conservation and propagation research on endangered insects. The theme was a tour to the world where humans and insects coexist harmoniously and create a sustainable world. There are also Experience Programs including the creation of specimens, which provide plenty of things to see and do about insects.
