Place : Bukchon Civic Park Outdoor Music Hall

Participation personnel : 3,000 people on average per day

Purpose of event : As a cultural and art event representing the summer vacation season of Sangju City, the venue for harmony for all citizens to participate and enjoy together

Hosting/maintenance : Sangju/Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations and three other organizations

Gyeongcheondae

There are “the former Sabeolwangneung royal tomb”, “the former Goryeong Gayawangneung royal tomb”, “Hwadali 3-story pagoda”, the great commander in Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592, Jeong Ki-ryong General's tomb namely “Chunguisa”, “Donam Seowon” and many other cultural sites. Also there are Sangju gliding site, “MBC Drama Sangdo” shooting site (Jungdong), and Sangju Art Village, which are highlighted for relaxing and sightseeing with family (stone pagoda and loess road).

Sangju International Riding Ground

The Sangju International Racing Station was completed in August 2010 and was built and constructed to meet the specifications of the international competition and is the highest level of riding in the country It was officially certified as an international standard riding ground by the Equestrian Association and successfully held the 9th Sangju World University Student Racing Championship. Sangju Weir Water Leisure Center

The Sangju Weir Water Leisure Center is a place where you can enjoy the superb view of the Nakdong River and the Gyeongcheon Island. There are a variety of water leisure gears, including water bikes, banana boats, kayaks, canoes and pontoon boats.

Gyeongcheon Island

Nagaksan

There are also unique statues of nature with stories on the mountain trail, such as Sowonbawi and Magwihalmeomgul, that add a little fun. It is the famous beautiful mountain of Sangju - climbing the mountain for the third time will fulfill one’s will, and if people who have no children make a wish in Magwihalmeomgul, where the energy of the mountain and the river are spewing out, will give birth to a son.

This mountain is spiritual, magnificent, and has vital forces, and cannot be expressed or followed in human world, which named the mountain Songnisan that is said to have left the world from ancient times.

Yongyu Valley

Songnisan Peak is a valley that spreads 4m along the east side of the valley and before the water flows into the Nakdong River. Running deep south inland from Taebaekjullyeong, it is a secret view made of the last strength by Sobaeksanmaek.

Jangak Falls

The mountains and waters from Cheonhwangbong that have stretched down long have fallen deep, called “Jangak Falls” in Jangakdonggu. The height of the waterfall is over 6m, the large amount of water vibrates mountains and streams, and dozens of dark blue underworlds can’t be measured in depth. Watch the water spinning around in the aftermath of a downpour will make you feel as if a dragon will rise any soon.

Hwaryeong War Memorial

The Battle of Sangju Hwaryeongjang is meaningful that Armed Forces and UN Forces contributed greatly to the development of a defense system centered on the Nakdong River when the South has been hit by the North Korean Army with a big blow.

Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center

The Baekdudaegan Ecological Education Center was established for the historical, cultural and ecological education of the Baekdudaegan as the only professional educational institution for children in the Baekdudaegan Maritime with the joint efforts of the Korea Forest Service Green Project and Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Seongjubong Natural Recreational Forest

The 200-hectare scale [Seongjubong Nature Recreation Forest], located at the foot of Seongjubong (606m above sea level), Namgok-ri, euncheok-myeon, Sangju-si, with a combination of lush forests, clean air, clean water and beautiful scenery, has at least the basic facilities necessary for recreation and rest in the forest, and have 8 and 11 recreation facilities for the group that are located exquisitely. There are 8 training rooms and seminar rooms, where group events can be held.

The Hamchang Myeongju Museum, which continues the history and traditions of Myeongju, was built to inform the history of Myeongju and the tradition of Myeongju weaving and to recognize the value of Myeongju, a natural fiber.

Imran Bukcheon Historic Site

Hokukseongji was the first place where the first main forces fought by Joseon Central Command and Japanese troops in 1592 (Imjin War). In 1592, when Imjin War arose, Yi Il was appointed as the Sunchalsa and was sent to Sangju and northern Bukcheon. Fought against the 17,000 Japanese soldiers？led by Gonisi, but lost.
