On January 22, 1974, the son tried to save his father who fell in heavy snow when they were on the way to the big house 12km away at Okcheon, Chungcheongbuk-do, by covering his clothes on his father and in the end passed away together. "Filial Son Jeong Jae-su Memorial Hall" was built to promote the filial awareness.
